Move to at least -20; maximum $500 penalty |
All at-fault collisions - Drivers found at fault in a motor vehicle collision are assessed -6 points on their driving record. - At-fault drivers will receive a notice by mail. It will indicate the driver's new position on the Safety Rating Scale and match it with a corresponding financial penalty, if applicable. - At-fault drivers can appeal movement on the Safety Rating Scale, but not the determination of responsibility for the collision itself. Drivers wishing to appeal liability for a collision must do so through small claims court.
